Wie jedes Jahr herrscht auch im Sommer 1971 im Freibad in Berlin Pankow dichtes Gedränge. Viele Kinder und Jugendliche, die nur einen Teil der acht Wochen langen Sommerferien in Ferienlagern und bei ihren Verwandten verbringen konnten, verlebten in Freibädern wie diesen ihre schulfreie Zeit.
