Zur 6. Internationalen Leipziger Dokumentar- und Kurzfilmwoche 1963 besuchen viele in- und ausländische Gäste die Messestadt. Erstmals nahmen an dem Dokumentarfilmfestival auch große internationale Organisationen teil. Dazu gehörten der Weltgewerkschaftsbund, die Internationale Frauenföderation und der Weltfriedensrat, der einen Sonderpreis verlieh.
